I take real pride in giving every client the service I can. No smoke and mirrors, no BS. Just transparent, honest truth about your instrument.
When you come to Arizona Jim Guitar Works, you are getting a 1-hour, 1-on-1 Evaluation of your instrument. We will talk through anything that has been bugging you about your instrument, or maybe you are not sure what is going on, but just need it looked at. That is ok too!
I will then dive into evaluating your instrument top to bottom. Tuners, nut, frets, pickups... even the strap buttons! I will explain what I am seeing and tell you exactly what work I recommend and if it is urgent or can wait. You will get a proper quote for the full list of recommended work, and you decide what gets taken care of now.

*The $20.00 appointment fee will go towards the final bill for work completed.

5-Point Set Up - Starting at $55.00
This proper 5-Point Set Up ensures that your instrument it set up properly to give you the best playing experience possible. Here is what is included in the 5-Point Set Up:
1) We are going to ensure the neck relief is properly set
2) We are going to ensure the string height/action is at the optimal measurements based on your playing style
3) We are going to ensure the string height at the nut is correct
4) We are going to ensure the intonation is properly measured and set
5) We are going to ensure the pickups are set to the optimal height for balanced tonal performance
**Client is responsible for providing a new set of their preferred strings**
Level Crown & Polish - Starting at $150.00
A Level, Crown, and Polish (or fret dress) is the process of precision-sanding every fret to an exact uniform height, reshaping the tops into a rounded peak, and buffing the fret wire to a mirror finish.
This allows us to properly set the action without the nasty fret buzz occurring from uneven frets. It also ensures the instruments intonation is as precise as it can be.
To assist with achieving even lower action and faster playability, Bi-Level and Tri-Level fret dressing options are also available.
**Set Up is NOT included**
Refret - Starting at $450.00
For instruments with worn or damaged frets, a full refret may be required. Here at Arizona Jim Guitar Works, we offer both Nickel-Steel and Stainless-Steel options for full re-frets.
Partial re-frets are only available on a case-by-case basis.

Pickup Installation - Starting at $40.00 each

Looking to upgrade your tuning keys for better tuning stability? Want string changes to be faster? We can take care of getting those new tuners installed for you!
Need assistance with ensuring you get the correct tuners for your instrument? We got you covered there also!
**Client is responsible for providing NEW tuners of their choice.
Nut Replacement (all guitars) - Starting at $50.00
Damaged nut? Want to upgrade to a better material? We can handle that. We offer premade synthetic nuts from TUSQ, or we can make a custom cut bone or synthetic nut for your favorite instrument.
Saddle Replacement (acoustic guitar & bass) - Starting at $75.00
Saddle damaged or want to upgrade? We offer custom cut bone and synthetic saddle materials.
Minor Crack Repair (acoustic guitar & bass) - Starting at $40.00
While Arizona Jim Guitar Works does specialize in electric guitar and basses, we can take care of minor acoustic guitar repairs such as small cracks.
Electric Guitar & Bass Modifications - Starting at $100.00
Modifications are handled on a case-by-case basis. So, book your Evaluation appointment and let's discuss what modifications you are looking to have done.

Music hasn’t just been a career path for me—it’s the environment I was raised in. Growing up, surrounded by musicians and music, I was destined to be where I am today.

I began singing at the age of 9, and had my first recording session in a Los Angeles recording studio at 10. I then picked up a guitar when I was 12. Right then and there I knew I was hooked.
In 2013 I took the leap and went to Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, graduating in February 2014. That experience provided the technical foundation I needed to bridge the gap between passion and craftsman.
